SHUPP’s CanStruction Competition

On Saturday, June 13, 2026 in the courtyard of the Princeton Shopping Center at the behest of Eden’s owners of the center, Send Hunger Packing Princeton (SHUPP) held its first canstruction event. Local organizations designed and built sculptures made of shelf stable food, cans and boxes.

The ultimate destination for these cans, 10,000 of them, was SHUPP’s storage area, then to free pantries scattered about town and finally to people’s dinner tables.

SHUPP has been caring for vulnerable among us for 14 years now focusing on its core mission “Because a child should hunger for knowledge, not for breakfast”   For more information go to www.shupprinceton.org.
